Not exactly tariff related, but on the quote about this being worse than COVID, I feel that so much. I live in DC and have seen so many more people I love be impacted by job cuts than I did during early COVID. Which then impacts so many other parts of the community, right? More people unemployed and fighting for the basics…. Food, child care, health care… the list is endless!
It’s just heartbreaking and I wish more people outside of DC knew just how critical government workers were to our country.
I completely agree. I work for a govt contractor who has been hit hard by this. I feel like people outside of DC don’t understand a) the hard meaningful work that people did and b) that so many good studies and beneficial work is now going to be lost forever. Maybe they will realize when things directly impact them…
