I think Emily was a bit dismissive about briefing, just saying no one has ever briefed HER.
It's clear from every story about the Royals that someone is talking. They sometimes even say 'source close to the palace'. There was a quote from palace officials about Kate saying that the walkabout with. Meghan was "the hardest thing she's ever don e". Is Emily thinking no one from the palace has called a reporter and given them info? Come on, now.
Congrats Elizabeth! So exciting! I can't wait to read and listen to your coverage. It was the next best thing to being there during your jubilee/Boston coverage, and I have no doubt it will be the same for this. I hope you will feel comfortable enough to report on some of the tougher issues that a British magazine typically might not.
And in addition, I did watch the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth as a five year old, and I do remember the excitement, which is very much lacking at the moment. Friends who spent the day of the funeral in Windsor have no intention of watching, and I would have though them Conservative and Royalist to the core!
So glad you are going. I’m just back from visiting family in England and found most people to be very underwhelmed with the whole occasion. I shall be very interested to see the turnout and the reception that the Coronation receives. I shall certainly be watching, with hot scones and Mimosas, with a beloved friend. We have watched all of the previous occasions together, and this will be no different.
I will admit to a dislike of Camilla, and some ambivalence about her being crowned. I’ve seen too much of her unfortunate behavior, and read too much sleaze.
I’m not very giddy about Camilla’s crowning either. I think the streets will be lined and people will be very interested in his coronation. If not for King C for glimpses of Wills and Kate and kids. And more so, the pomp and circumstance!
What a fascinating interview! So interesting to hear Emily's experience as part of the British press. Thrilled for you to team up with Hello! for the coronation!!

This is very exciting. Are you going to be a little sweet to King C and not blame him for all of H&M’s choices?

I hope you’ll have time to catch a show, eat yummy foods, visit a museum, drop in at Harrods, all the wonderful Londony things!

Very interested to hear Emily’s views on the lack of briefings.
How cool!!

So very excited to follow along on all your adventures! Please be our boots on the ground and *overshare* 😂
