What a trip! What a wardrobe! Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, served up a series of thoughtful styles on her four-day trip to Colombia with Prince Harry this month. She chose to share her considerable spotlight — and the attention her fashion receives — with a host of Colombian brands, including clothing by Johanna Ortiz, Juan de Dios and Silvia Tcherassi as well as accessories by Maria E. Esquivia and Hannia Charr.
Stepping back from the individual looks, my eye goes to the cadence. Meghan began the visit with a very business-y vest suit by Veronica Beard — which I bought and love. She also sprinkled in a blazer and a few button-up shirts throughout, reinforcing this as a work trip. However, especially for her travels to Cartagena and Cali, she eased into relaxed separates. So many fun skirts! I also appreciate the balance of neutrals to more vibrant hues, a nice mix of the duchess’s personal style with a nod to Colombia’s culture.
Below you will find my so many thoughts — or SMTs for short — on nine of the 11 looks she wore. (Two are missing — the blue Oscar de la Renta dress from a private luncheon and the final green dress, which I promise to add. Between this trip and the DNC, my thumbs are sore!).
