Prince Harry’s Latest Court Appearance, Explained
A look at the duke’s case against Mirror Group Newspapers, why he decided to enter the witness box, and what we learned from his testimony.
Prince Harry became the first member of the royal family to enter the witness box in more than a century when he appeared in High Court this week for his case against Mirror Group Newspapers.
“It’s a lot,” the Duke of Sussex said Wednesday, growing emotional when he was asked by his lawyer what the experience on the stand has been like for him. “For my whole life, the press misled me, covered up the wrongdoing,” he continued, according to CNN. “Sitting here in court knowing that the (respondents have) the evidence in front of them and for (opposition lawyer) Mr. Green to suggest I’m speculating… I’m not sure what to say about that.”
Below is a look at what the suit is about, as well as what we learned from Harry’s testimony and how it was received.
