Prince Harry made his most public plea yet to the British Royal Family in a new interview Friday, asking for “reconciliation” while sharing that his father, King Charles III, “won’t speak to me.”
The Duke of Sussex granted a sit-down interview to the BBC Friday, taped shortly after he lost his appeal to reinstate the government-funded security he and his family were stripped of in 2020. The 40-year-old prince appeared solemn throughout the conversation, which took place in California, remarking on his strained relationship with his father and the impact of the ruling on his family.
“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” he told Nada Tawfik, a correspondent and anchor for the British broadcaster. What will Prince Archie, who turns 6 this month, and Princess Lilibet, age 3, miss? “Well, everything,” Harry continued. “I love my country. I always have, despite what some people in that country have done.”
