Kate’s Restyling Trick: Add a Bow 🎀

So Many Thoughts on the Princess of Wales’s embellishment of choice this year.

Catherine, the Princess of Wales hosted her annual carol concert Friday evening at Westminster Abbey. The event, which welcomes some 1,600 guests and will be broadcast on ITV come Christmas Eve, has become one of the biggest nights on the royal calendar. Since its inception in 2021, “Together at Christmas” has brought together members of the Windsor and Middleton families along with notable Brits and people involved with royal causes and patronages. It is always a bit nostalgic, but this year’s concert felt particularly poignant given the princess’s cancer diagnosis.

“Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times,” she wrote in the letter given to attendees.

When the first images hit my Instagram feed, my eye went immediately to what Catherine was wearing. She chose a familiar Alexander McQueen coat, seen at least three times before, restyled with a festive statement bow. It was the fourth version of this embellishment we have seen the princess add to a repeat piece so far this year. What does it mean? My thoughts, below.
